I wish you where in my mind.
I wish you could recline with me and feel the sandy floors that sugarcoat my feet;
Every step is sweet.
You can learn to fight birds for flight and birds eye-
views of talent without proof.
Come over and look at…
what other people overlook.
While my dreams oversee these exotic needs.
Overseas dreams.
Spanish success.
Cuban stress.
“Where’s my deck chair?”
“Why would you assume I don’t need sunscreen?”
Shine lights that makes the sun scream.
Hide behind clouds that quiver as they go down.
Hold negotiations with nations about the sky and how we’ve decided on
Light dusks and cool summer time breezes.
For my pleasure.
Leisure with no effort.
Amen.

Mirrors

Life.
It’s become this beautiful whirlwind.
I’m whirling.
Justifying myself without even knowing so.
This me shaped hole seems to be losing its mystery.
I’ve been having conversations with the mirror lately.
We seem to be saying the same thing.
Don’t know whether this is a reflection of my current reality…
Or a reminder of what has always been…
I’m watching myself blink.
But I wanna see my eyes shut.
Tell me when my lids close.
Tell me when my mind elopes.
Make me believe you.
